What’s in today’s edition: an under $5k 10-day Italian roadtrip itinerary for any season, my full South Africa hotel list, two cult favorite hotels on the opposite coasts of Canada, where I’d stay in Park City, three easy weekend trips from LA, three amazing and affordable agrturismos in Italy, four luxury villa rentals (Tuscany, Puglia, San Miguel de Allende, the Algarve, and Hydra), and three hotels under $500 (on a Greek island, Punta del Este and Sumba island). Happy hoteling, you good people with good taste.

1. A 10-day any season Italian road trip for foodies, under $5k

Italy vacations are known to be expensive vacations. Especially, if you go to the beach, and in the summer. So, this is a roadtrip that can be done year round, meaning no beach. It revolves around food and wine, largely in places that aren’t tourist traps, which means it’s affordable. And wonderful. In Northern Italy. If you play it right, 10 nights at the following hotels (allll affordable luxury and highly special) can cost you a total of $2,500! 10 days, vs the price of a handbag that will go out of season soon.

As many of my itineraries in Italy, this one requires a car. I’ve mentioned it before, but I typically book a rental car with Sixt, as I’ve found they have the largest inventory of automatic cars. Ok, let’s get to the itinerary, shall we?
