Eight Indulgences: October 4
A luxury Amalfi coast villa rental, the wellness hotel that hosts G7 summits, a Rio creative hideaway, hotels on the Northern California coast, Montana luxury getaways and three other indulgences.
1. A Bavarian hotel where the powerful go to relax
A Bavaraian castle, perched on a hill, that’s hosted the G7 summit twice. Once used as housing for people who survived the concentration camps, then a chamber music haven, and now, a luxury hotel known for its fantastic spa and large concert hall.
So many hotels get copywriting wrong, but they’re the exception. In their hero message, they describe themselves as…”an inimitable retreat & hideaway for the cosmopolitan aesthete. Spacious spas for adults & families. Outstanding well-being and yoga retreats. A paradise for hiking, mountain biking, cycling, wild swimming and skiing. Edutainment for kids and teens. Casual fine dining with two stars and unforgettable concerts and festivals with the great artists of our time.”
To the point, cut the crap, but woo me, wow.
You can choose to stay either in the “Hideaway” or the “Retreat,” the former being the original (reconstructed after a fire), the latter being a 2016 addition and where the heads of state rest their heads.
This is Luxury luxury, but rooms start at less than 600 euro/night (not a little, but not a lot a lot).
