This was so very fun. The Austria Hotel List, followed by my (perfect) shoulder season Italian roadtrip that I was supposed to be on right now, but had to postpone (and modify) until July. A very good one, with lots of hidden gems. Then, I share one of my favorite sources of inspiration in the form of a before-its-time magazine from the 50s. Next, another spotlight on Australia, this time with a bucket list NSW rental, new luxury hotel opening on the pipeline, and a much-anticipated spa. The new hotel news is deep this week – 10 properties to know about. We end with the ultimate guide to transportation in Italy: trains, rental cars, and boats – the answers to all the questions in my comments and DMs. Enjoy, you Good People with Good Taste!

The Austria Hotel List

We went Swiss last week, opting for Austria was the clear next move. This is a curation of the 61 most special hotels throughout the country. Informed by deep, deep research. I’ve had many clients with bucket-list Austrian trips to be booked that I’ve been thrilled to deliver on. In the process, I realized I must plan a trip there sometime soon. Of course, I’ll share the itinerary once I do.

I’ve always loved Austria – it’s grand and grounded at the same time. Lovely. Also, a great idea for anyone looking for Europe trip in August with the brief of no overheating. Of course, it’s an equally great idea for snow season. Spring and fall are largely out of the question, unless you’re going to a city - transition time is important in hospitality.

I’ve continued as I’ve done the past two weeks, adding rationale for most of the hotels. I think it’s worth having a slightly shorter list for greater context. If I’m wrong, do let me know. As always, my personal top choices that align with my own preferences are marked with an asterisk.

Happy Hoteling!
