The Curation: Volume 17
Unveiling The Campania Curation, the Cyprus, Malta, and Montenegro hotel lists, my honest thoughts on La Palma in Capri, hotels in UNESCO-listed places, new and upcoming hotels and more!
Big week! Fun week. Not personally, but professionally. My latest labor of love, The Campania Curation, is finally live. Then, we’re off to the Adriatic for this week’s hotel list – Cyprus, Malta, and Montenegro. So long in the making, so hard to find the gems, but they’ve been procured and provided. Three hotel openings, including one very exciting new hotel in the South of France, a buzzy Greek arrival in Bodrum, and Menorca’s latest address-to-know. Then, the loves (for my personal taste) from both the Travel & Leisure and Condé Nast Traveler lists of best new hotels of the year. Next, we’re back to UNESCO land, with hotels in places on the list in Vietnam (a boat!), Sicily, Liguria (Italy), Versailles, and the Gifu mountains of Japan. Lastly, my much-requested intricate and honest thoughts about hotel La Palma in Capri, and my link loves of the week.
Introducing The Campania Curation
It’s here! Campania, my favorite part of my favorite country, Italy. Home to Capri, Ischia, Procida, the Amalfi Coast, Sorrento and the Sorrentine Peninsula. That’s the focus for this guide. The Campania Curation. $25 flat. Digital download PDF. Yes, it goes beyond hotels. For each location, I share all my hotel picks per price range, my top restaurant and beach club choices, activity ideas, the basics, and the honest details. The stuff I don’t share on social, because I don’t want to ruin the special. Hotels are different, there’s a barrier to entry. But this is where and when I go beyond.
I only create guides to live on happyhoteling.com when I have true expertise in the area. I’m fortunate that I do here, and I’m so excited to share it with you. There are the obvious picks and those very much off-the-radar. Local and tourist experiences alike. Only the special, sempre!
It’s not a comprehensive guide, that still lives in The Comprehensive Guide to Capri, and will likely be the only place to get that treatment. It’s a guide to the places I recommend to clients, friends, and frequent myself. It’s to give people a new way of procuring this information that I’m asked everyday. It’s what I would text a best friend asking for all my “recs” for any of these places.
I want to be very clear that for paid subscribers, some of this knowledge already resides in the archive. This is merely another way for people to get what they’re interested in, in a different format there’s demand for. I never want to be a girl that “sells” - that is so not my thing and travel is expensive, important, and personal.

The Cyprus, Malta, and Montenegro Hotel List
I’ve been teasing this for quite some time, but today it’s released to you – my internet world. The hotel lists for three Aegean countries that are beautiful, historic and home to beautiful beaches but typically miss the hotel lists.
I must admit - the search wasn’t particularly easy. Little by little, month by month, year by year, we got here. Only the special ones. 10 hotels in Cyprus. 24 hotels in Malta. 12 hotels in Montenegro. My personal favorites are marked with an asterisk, as always.
Quickly before we get in, I don’t think I’ve ever shared the eventual intention of these full hotel lists. The goal is for paid subscribers to be able to type anywhere they want to go into the world and find a special hotel to stay at. So, week by week, we cover the globe in hotels, straight into the archive.
