FOR CONSIDERATION
Even though I’ve been telling you that fish are it for the past two summers, everyone has now gotten the memo so this is the last summer we can just keep swimming until it’s fizzled out. I definitely shared this last year as well, but I still want this My Beachy Side sarong in all its iterations. Also on the fish memo, this bag for the beach.
In the same vein, fisherman sandals are on the up-and-up for this season. I’m really loving this silver espadrille pair and this butter yellow leather pair.
Shells are always it for summer, but especially this one. This necklace might be one of my favorite statements for the season, and these earrings are just the right size, this sand dollar shirt is so good, these earrings are perfectly over-the-top, and this cotton sarong is a great print.
We all know I love novelty. On my current wishlist: these starfish silver sandals, this banana wristlet, the Prada belt bag, this beaded tomato bag, this pearl/rubber ducky necklace, and most of all – this strawberry bag.
Cala lilies are one of my favorite types of flowers, and are such a lovely silhouette for jewelry. These earrings are so chic, and so is this necklace.
Suzie Kondi has her best pants ever, STRIPED.
On Instagram, you seem to have been liking my full skirts I’ve been wearing. This Mango number is great, this vintage piece is fantastic, this is so happy and a lovely striped colorway, and this is a great affordable classic.
Other obsessions: these pajamas, these silk shoes, these super-splurge pants, this dress that reminds me of a vintage piece I got for my 22nd birthday and lost somewhere between then and now, and this H&M dress that’s perhaps the best piece they’ve ever made.
There’s a lot I’m lusting over, I’ve listed it all here.
Let’s be so real, no one needs any of this we need sanity and peace and empathy and common sense and more humanity. This is for fun and escapism.
Happy Hoteling!
Capri News
A handful of exciting news! Delivered via my Caprese best friend, Stefanie’s return to the island after a few months away.
Let’s start with the one dose of less-than-stellar news. The beloved Caesar Augustus, the only hotel worth staying at in Anacapri and a truly Caprese institution, has been bought by Gruppo Statuto, which means…it will become either a Six Senses or a Four Seasons, which I’m not going to lie, has gutted me more than is socially acceptable. That means that this season, 2025, is the final time we get to experience Signore Francesco’s signature hospitality, ending his family’s legacy with the hotel since the 1960s. He is a wildly special man, as his father was at the helm and still is as a fixture. It’s such a deeply Caprese hotel in its current existence, and truly personal feeling. Oh how I hope they don’t get rid of the signature yellow and white stripes, nor make the terrace any semblance of sleek, or make the old fashioned elevator non-functioning, or…heaven forbit, paint the hotel or f with the pool and gardens. For people who really know and love Capri like I do, having a copy paste luxury chain hotel on the island is our worst fear. Four Seasons doesn’t always do this, and I’m really hoping that they somehow nail it and upgrade the property while retaining the true Caprese identity of the hotel. I just can’t see that piece of property becoming a Six Senses, but watch me be wrong. I would be most sad for that, it just doesn’t fit with the island.
Now good news! First, nearly everything has opened for the season in the past few days, which means you can make your reservations at all the places.
